At Platform9 we get excited when people include us in their event plans. As a popular wedding, engagement, birthday & anniversary venue, we have hosted hundreds of events over the years and our experienced staff will assist you with all of your plans.

We can provide a range of elegant extras, such as candelabras, vases and candles. And when it comes to food, you can be confident that each bite, from the welcoming canapés right through to dessert, is a delicious occasion in itself. Our Chef’s gourmet selections will make your banquet the talk of the day!
The Venue
Platform9 is located in the Heritage Listed Toowoomba Railway Station, where the elegant ambience of yesteryear meets award winning cuisine to provide you with the perfect venue. The venue can be configured in many ways to suit most requirements. We can provide seating around octagonal tables (seat 8), square tables or trestle tables seating any number. A traditional long bridal table can be arranged to suit almost any number, or a less formal round bridal table can seat 8 – 12 people.
The platform is also available for a unique wedding ceremony, pre-dinner drinks and canapés, or outdoor dining.
Inclusions and room hire
A Room Hire Charge is applicable for exclusive use of the restaurant. The Room Hire Charge is between
$300.00 – $500.00 and includes:
- Experienced function coordinator
- 5 hours – starting from the time guests arrive at the venue
- Setting of all tables, place cards, bonbonniere etc
- Use of licensed platform area for pre-dinner drinks and canapés
- All bar & wait staff
- Round or square tables with full standard table setting
- Choice of tea light candles, silver candelabra, or hurricane lamps if required
- Exclusive QR crockery
- White linen table cloths
- Paper serviettes in your choice of colour (linen available on request)
- Bridal, cake, and present/guestbook tables
- Silver cake knife
- Microphone & PA system
- Standard clean up of function room
Additional costs
Exclusions that can be arranged on request and which will be quoted separately include:
Table decorations, centrepieces or theming, linen napkins, chair covers, whiteboards, data
projectors, projector screens, outside heating, bridal skirt, wishing wells, white plastic chairs for
wedding ceremony on platform if required, additional audio visual equipment. Please note
additional cleaning charges may be incurred in certain circumstances.
Wedding ceremony on platform
The platform is the ideal place for a unique wedding ceremony. The charge for this is $250.00
which includes a 6 metre red or black carpet and chairs that are not being used in the restaurant.
It also includes, setting up of platform barricades, outdoor plants, clothed table for signing register
etc.
Deposit
A deposit of $300.00 is required to secure your booking and is only refundable up to 4 months prior
to your event, should the event be cancelled. Once received, our Terms and Conditions will take
effect. A further deposit of 30% of the estimated final account is required 2 months prior to the
event.
